One of Breyer's founding molds: King arrived in 1960 in glossy bay and has never really left, with the #35 bay run alone staying in production for over a quarter century. The 1963 catalog put the mold at the center of the decorator experiment — Copenhagen, Wedgewood, Florentine and Gold Charm all appeared on the Fighting Stallion the same year, and clean examples of those four are among the mold's most hunted pieces today. Woodgrain collectors should note the #931 exists in at least three documented paint variations.
